FAQ
Frequently asked questions
*How do you source all of your animals and insects?
Everything is ethically sourced, mostly locally in my area. Natural deaths only, no animal or insect is ever harmed.
*Why do you use dead stuff specifically?
My personal vision is that everything has life after death. I love to find dead things and give them a new, beautiful life that they will be adored in whether it be as jewelry, a decor piece, etc.
*How did you get into dead stuff?
At family's house on the west coast in 2018 I found an entire mule deer skeleton. I was SO inspired to create it into something beautiful, so I took it all the way home with me to Virginia. I then started sourcing my finds locally, eventually selling my art at tattoo conventions that same year. Ever since then I've been in love <3 It started as mostly home decor but then I started making jewelry which I find to be so much fun. I try to create a good balance of both.
*Where can I purchase in person?
At Vintage Trixie in Chesapeake VA or upcoming shows that will always be advertised on the IG!
*Will you vend at my event?
I'm always interested in booking vending events, contact me with the specifics and we can discuss it.
*Do you do repairs if something breaks?
Yes, I offer a 100% free one time repair only on jewelry. Jewelry is fragile, especially with bones and such. I completely understand how anything could break easily and will fix it for you. If you aren't local, I do require you to pay the shipping costs.
*Can you make something with my pet's remains?
Yes, contact me and we can discuss this.
*Do you ship outside of the US? I can! Currently my shop is very small scale so I just automatically do US only on my listings because I don't expect to get many international orders. If you would like to purchase something internationally just contact me and I can directly assist you with that.
*** All specimens used are legal in Virginia, the state that they were obtained in. Please know your local laws if your order is being shipped across state lines. It is within the buyers responsibility to know the legality of anything they purchase.
